On Valentine's Day, Adam and I drove to Austin to go to the Spam Museum. It was pretty awesome. Later we had dinner at my favorite restaurant (Loring Pasta Bar) which was far too delicious and left me stuffed.

This weekend Adam & I found an apartment. We actually liked the first one we looked at so much, we decided we were done. I took out this money for the deposit today. I saw Rhett Miller of the Old 97s solo this past weekend. I saw him open for Dashboard Confessional 4 or 5 years ago and eventually fell in love the Old 97s and all their alt-country goodness. I couldn't help but be a fangirl and meet him at the merch table after the show. I can't remember the last time I did that.

Classes have started up again and it's back to balancing school with life. I'm taking American Political Thought, Drugs and Society, Oceanography, and Music in the Twin Cities. I'm especially excited about the last one. We mostly go to different kinds of concerts in the Cities and write reviews of each one. I think we are going to 15 total, everything from hip-hop to operas and folk. I'm just hoping they don't conflict too much with my own shows.

Speaking of which, other than the Rock Boat, I haven't been to a show is FOREVER. Luckily that will change this weekend!

I'm currently at my friend Sara's in Florida, hanging out for a few days before The Rock Boat. On Wednesday we went to Busch Gardens and went on a bunch of roller coasters and yesterday we went to DISNEY WORLD! Just the Magic Kingdom, but it was fabulous.

Today we're driving down to Miami for the pre-party, then the cruise leaves on Saturday. I'll be back on the 22nd. Hopefully with pictures for each day...hah.

We had Christmas Eve dinner at my house, as usual. I took this at the table because I had my camera out and hadn't done a 365 yet. Kind of lame, but oh well.

Dinner was really nice though. I was afraid it might be weird since my Grandpa had died just over a week beforehand, but it ended up being a really fun time. I ended up getting dragged to the midnight church service despite the fact I was exhausted. I was hoping to avoid it, but I suppose it wouldn't be Christmas Eve without my sister and I trying to hold in laughter at the ridiculous lines in the sermon.

Due in 2 days...can't wait! I missed a few days because I went home unexpectedly (my grandfather died) and didn't have time or feel like doing this, but I'm back and determined to stop slacking!

Yeah, I've been slacking but I was sick and had finals, so too bad.

I got the shirt and skirt yesterday at the mall. I took myself out on a date and it was fabulous. I haven't done that for a really long time. I went shopping, got dinner, then saw Australia. It was nice to spend time alone not in my house.

This didn't turn out like I wanted it too, but then again, I spent about 7 minutes on it. It's an homage to one of my favorite pictures of Ryan Adams, taken before I saw him open for Oasis on Wednesday. And yes, I am lighting my cigarette with my wireless remote.

The show was pretty damn good. My friend Zack came with me at the last minute and I hadn't seen him for awhile, so that was good. I was hoping the band would play more old stuff since I haven't picked up Cardinology yet, but it all sounded good. And no tantrums, that's always a plus ;) I'd still rather see a headlining show though...

I am lazy and still tired from the busy week, so I took this with Photo Booth on my computer, but then Poladroided it. I think this program is my favorite discovery.

I had a busy few days with lots of staying up late and getting up early. On Wednesday, I drove to Chicago and got in at 1am. Thursday was Thanksgiving and I stayed up late after the family dinner catching up with old friends. I spent Friday showing Alex and Adam around downtown Chicago, followed by a delicious steak dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. Yesterday Alex and I drove back, then saw ReadyGoes and White Light Riot at the (packed) Entry. We probably should've gone to bed instead, but we could not resist the RG/WLR combo.

I got someone to cover my radio show last night so I could go to the Weaver at the Loom/Low vs. Diamond/Barcelona show at the Varsity. I can't remember the last time I went to a show that early. It started at 6 and was done by 9. It was nice though because I had time to hang out with my roommate and hit the gym after I got home. The show itself was fun. I got to hang a little with Sara who I hadn't seen for awhile and I helped out one of her friends who just got a Nikon D60. Also, I adore Barcelona and they were fabulous. Listening to them reminds me of being in Australia, as their album was constantly on repeat during my daily bus commute to and from Parliament. They toured with my amigos This World Fair this summer, so I saw them a ridiculous amount (From Milwaukee to Minneapolis to Chicago to Madison to San Francisco...it was a good summer).

Speaking of which, I have not gone on any crazy music road trips this semester. It's weird. I haven't even been back to Illinois since Lollapalooza. I don't really miss it too much either. Minnesota has stolen my heart.

I fell back in love with my Egg Muffin Toaster, a brilliant contraption that coordinates the toasting of an english muffin and the poaching of an egg. In the dorms, it was good, in a kitchen, a whole new level of amazing is possible.

Naturally, it broke a few days later. It has been replaced with an egg poaching pan, which is cool, but nowhere near as fabulous.
